WorldQuant University
Synopsis
_
WorldQuant University is an entirely free online university. Their ongoing mission is to make advanced, quality education in the data sciences available free-of-charge to capable students, anywhere in the world. “Talent is global, opportunity is not.”
I worked with WorldQuant University and their brand for years, most recently completing a brand refresh and subsequent redesign of their website and supporting brand collateral.

Brand Refresh
WorldQuant University had an existing mark with strong recognition in the space. Taking the logomark as inspiration, I expanded the abstracted data theme into patterns, spot illustrations, and animations for use on the website and beyond.
Additionally, updates were made to the existing brand color palette, brightening things up for their mostly online digital presence.
Website + UI Toolkit
The new brand system was applied and expanded upon when creating the new WQU website. Each education tract is now associated with one of the bright colors from the updated brand palette.
Since we anticipated new pages being created within the new WQU site, an extensive UI system was created in Figma for development and future use, headed by Talia Bromberg. Additionally the site was built in Sanity, so the reusable content blocks were already available within the CMS.
Brand Assets
Below is a small sample of brand (and branded) assets completed during the rebrand process, utilizing the new patterns and animations.
Badge System
New Credly badges (a digital accreditation service) were needed as a part of the brand refresh. As I had created the previous iteration of credential badges, I was familiar with the platform and the information that needed to be conveyed in the small space.
Guidelines
I created an extensive brand document, including: gradient creation and usage, direction on sourcing diverse photography to reflect the student body, the library of existing abstract data illustrations, some UI light guidance for the website, and much more.
