Reflective is a non-profit research organization aiming to accelerate the pace of sunlight reflection research. They are aggregating data and creating the tools needed to make informed decisions about sunlight reflection technologies.

Brand
The client requested a clean, editorial feel during the discovery phase.
We focused on finding the perfect serif typeface for the headers, knowing it would be integral to achieving the desired look. I love the condensed headline Gambarino for its teardrop terminals and drastic shifts in line weight.
Reflective’s existing palette was lovely, so we shifted the existing shades while adding a couple more neutral tones to balance things a bit. We also proposed using the full-saturation colors with far less frequency.
Collage
The brand collages incorporate wind patterns (provided by the client), layered with a landscape image. It was established early on that any photography would have the wind affecting the landscape in some way.

Iconography
The iconography for Reflective’s principles went through a few iterations (both in style and subject matter). The client preferred more literal visuals to abstract shapes.

Website
Since the website is heavy on information and tools, typographical hierarchy, whitespace, and margins got more attention than usual. The collage illustrations were reserved for prioritized page heroes (and also used later in slide decks). Others were simpler, purely utilitarian pages.
The web design was created in collaboration with colleague Talia Bromberg.
