A-Alpha Bio

A-Alpha Bio harnesses synthetic biology and machine learning to measure, predict, and engineer protein-protein interactions. They use their experimental platforms AlphaSeq and AlphaBind to inform the discovery and development of novel therapeutics. They both run in-house programs and partner with leading pharmaceutical companies.

After the initial rebrand and website launch, A-Alpha Bio continued our partnership for years, working with us to update the website with new pages and create new graphics as needs arose.

A-Alpha Bio: Provided logomark and photography

Brand

Before creating the supporting brand, I made an update to the logo lockup, using a more modern and slightly heavier typeface to match the visual weight of the logomark. I also extended the logo family, creating one color versions, fill-only versions, and transparent versions.

Illustrations

The illustrations and infographics I created for A-Alpha Bio were some of the most technical of my career. Each piece was a close collaboration with the client, making sure every small detail was accurate.

Benefits Icons

While redesigning the website, the client asked that I pay special attention to the benefits iconography on the Careers page. They were very proud of what they offered their employees, and were also heavily recruiting at the time.

I was a bit more playful with this collection of icons, and was sure to call out this visual shift in the brand guidelines. This more playful style was also used in the future company values wall art in the A-Alpha Bio offices.

Office Decor

A-Alpha Bio moved into a new office space in 2023, and used some of the custom graphics and extended color palette I created to decorate the walls of the office. Photography provided by A-Alpha Bio.

Wall Art

With the office branding established, the client requested some new representative graphics for the company values. Again, it was decided that this visual language could be a bit more playful than other graphics explaining their technologies.

As their offices are in Seattle, I worked with the office manager for dimensions, paint colors, and other in-office context.
